Premier Klein's Speech at the Provincial Museum of Alberta
May 24, 2005

(Check against delivery)

Your Majesty, Honourable Senator, Honourable Minister and Mrs. Mar, His Worship the Mayor, distinguished guests:

It is with great pleasure that I welcome all of you gathered here today, as we celebrate Alberta's centennial with Her Majesty.

This year, all Albertans are taking the time to celebrate our past and remember the generations who have built this remarkable province.

I also hope people will imagine what this province can do in the next 100 years . . . what today's children and their children will accomplish . . . what heights can still be reached.

This amazing mural is a collaboration of 100 Alberta artists. It is an illustration of both Alberta's past and future.

The children who are now completing the mural represent the generations who will lead Alberta in the future, taking our province further than any of us could possibly expect.

As the final pieces are put in place, and the picture comes into focus, we see a celebration of our province's rich culture and history, a celebration 100 years in the making.

Her Majesty's presence in Alberta has made this centennial all the more special and memorable. Her visit is indeed a great honour.

Now, to ensure a great future, Albertans must remember the past. With these keys, we can unlock our history.

Your Majesty, I present to you the Royal Alberta Museum.

This is history coming alive for Alberta's future generations.

Thank you all for joining us today - you are all part of the Alberta story!

Enjoy the day and all of Alberta's centennial year.

Thank you.
